DAY 47--Our 8th state

It rained overnight, but we had a rainbow in  camp in the morning, and the rain cleared up through the day. We stopped at an Amish market and picked up a number of homemade bakery items. YUM! We also stopped at a gift shop filled with chainsaw wood carvings.
Most of the day we were on the Pere Marquette Rail Trail. The rail trails are fabulous! They are built on old railroad beds, so have very little grade, and are away from traffic, often in rural and beautiful wooded areas.
At one point we were routed onto a dirt road for 6-1/2 miles, but we decided to go with it as it wasn't gravel and we didn't feel like backtracking.
We stopped at a library without getting any more books, went to a quilt shop without getting any fabric, and went to Gramma's Treats and DID get some fresh homemade doughnuts.
At one point when we were contemplating our next move, an angry-looking man stepped out of his pick-up truck and approached us. Ended up he just wanted to get a good look at Lonna's bike. She is always attracting attention!
Camped in Hersey.
