DAY 33--Goodbye North Dakota, Hello Minnesota!

Early today we rode across a small bridge from North Dakota into Minnesota. There was no "Welcome to Minnesota" sign, so we created our own, with Lonna signing MN, and Paula indicating that this is our sixth state. We still had overcast skies, but no rain. The scenery is getting greener, still relatively flat, still very few places to stop along the way. We had a rest stop in Hitterdal, where the only place open was the bar and grill. Got ourselves some loaded fries. Several guys at the bar were very impressed that we had ridden 35 miles so far that day. When we told them the grand plan, they about fell off their bar stools. One of them even bought us some beer cozies. (They offered us shots of tequila, but we declined.)
A little further down the road we spotted a produce stand in someone's yard. They had all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables, plus homemade goodies-- jellies and jams, bread, rolls, and...PIE! We each had a piece of mixed fruit pie, then  headed on down the road.
Along the way we saw many geese flying overhead, and a family of swans.
We camped in a city park, once again under a shelter. It was nice to have a dry tent in the morning even though it rained overnight.

  1. We are enjoying every moment of this trip with you. Bless you all 3. Jim
And how could it be quiet, I saw all those tractors in the photo...lined up for the race. Kidding of course. I especially like the idea of "pie" especially when you find it. mj
