DAY 44--Wet Wisconsin

It rained overnight and well into the morning, so we hung out at the house until about 11:30. We rode through Wausau and caught the Mount Bay Rail Trail. Rode that the entire day. It was unpaved, but in fairly good condition, especially considering the recent rain. There were a few large tree branches down along the path in a couple of places.
The day was chilly, windy and drizzly. At one short stop a guy with a pickup asked if we wanted a ride back to our vehicle. (We declined.) Went through a couple of small towns. We stopped in Bowler for a late lunch of homemade chicken dumpling soup and peach pie.
Along the route today we saw deer, hawks, and sandhill cranes. Also starting to spot some barn quilts.
We got into the county park near Shawano about 7:30. Steve is getting to be a pro at finding shelters for us to camp under!
